Year 4

Welcome to Year 4!

We are so excited to share our learning journey with you! This page is the perfect place to keep up to date with important information, discover what we have been learning about and celebrate all the wonderful things happening in our classrooms.  From exciting new topics and creative projects to fantastic achievements and memorable moments, there is always something to share. We can’t wait to show you what we get up to as we learn, grow and shine together in Year 4!

 Just a few reminders for the week:

PE is on a Tuesday afternoon - children to come to school in their PE kit. Please make sure they are wearing the correct kit. Earrings need to be removed by the child or before school, we are not allowed to help with this.

 

 

Reading.  Children should be reading regularly at home and returning their diaries to school each day.  If they read five times a week, they receive a raffle ticket into the prize draw at Friday's awards assembly where they have the opportunity to win a new book!

 

Please make sure to be logging on to TT Rockstars.  Playing the garage game will help you to learn your times tables.  This is a valuable tool to help the children learn their times tables as well as prepare them for the Multiplication Tables Check they will be taking in June. The soundcheck game mimics the real test.

As our topic for this term is Stone Age to Iron Age, we have started looking at The Stone Age Boy in our guided reading sessions.

We have also enjoyed learning about Katherine Johnson as we are using the book 'Counting on Katherine' as the stimulus for Literacy.

We had great fun going outside to find a variety of plants and flowers to sort in different ways.

 

Our class song is 'Count on Me' by Bruno Mars.
