Year 6
Welcome to our Year 6 page — your go-to space for all the latest news, events, and adventures happening in our final year at Hazelmere!
PE
Year 6 have been having a great time in our squash lessons each Wednesday with Off The Wall Squash. To experience playing matches on a real squash court and in order to put all our skills into practise we will be heading to Corporal Budd Gym at the Garrison on Wednesday 22nd October!
History
In History we have been studying World War II and to consolidate this learning we will be heading to Duxford Imperial War Museum on Friday 14th November. Watch this space for more details of this fantastic trip!
Linked to this topic we are reading 'Once' in guided reading and 'Letters From The Lighthouse' in literacy. Both of these stories focus on the trials and tribulations faced by children during this period of time.
Y6 Residential Trip - Danbury
On Monday 6th October Miss Pars, Mrs Roxby and Mrs C-C will be meeting parents to discuss our residential trip to Danbury, which will take place in June. This is a great opportunity for parents (and children) to ask questions and find out about all the crazy fun we will be having on that week! We will also be happy to put your minds at rest and discuss any concerns individual parents may have!
Homework
Homework has been set on EdShed. There is a Maths quiz and spelling games/ test to be completed every week. All homework is set on a Friday and due to be completed by the following Friday.
Children should know their logins and these have been sent home.
In addition to this, all children should aim to read at home five times a week. If they do, then they receive a raffle ticket in awards assembly and may be lucky enough to win a free book!
