We are going to be continuing to look at time in Maths. We are going to be looking at measuring how long something lasts for as well as solving problems involving time.
In English we are continuing our persuasion unit by creating an advert for a chocolate bar. We will be thinking carefully about the techniques used to persuade an audience.
In Science we will be finishing our plants unit as well adding to our class garden.
On Tuesday it is practise sports day so we will be on the field for most of the morning. Please make sure to come in PE kit to school. Plenty of water and sun hats too please!
Next week (07.07.25) ...

Tuesday 8th is sports day weather dependent so please make sure to come in wearing PE kit. There is a parent picnic afterwards and parents are invited to come in and look at our books.
Wednesday 9th is school fete day. We are having another parent picnic from 1pm with the fete starting at 2pm. The fete runs until 4pm. There are lots of great stalls so please do come along!
Trip into Colchester
We enjoyed our trip into Colchester on Thursday 12th June. We started our day looking around St Botolphs Priory before moving on to Firstsite to look at the current exhibition by Elsa James. After some time in the gallery, we walked to Castle park to eat our lunch and learn a little bit about the castle. We walked up the high street pausing at the statue of Jane and Ann Taylor, writers of ‘Twinkle Twinkle little star’ until we reached the Roman Circus at Abbey Fields. We were lucky enough to get a talk about the circus from one of the volunteers which was incredibly interesting. Keep an eye out for photos on the Instagram and here.
Science Day
As part of our Science topic we have had a Science Day learning all about plants and the parts. We investigated the parts by dissecting flowers. We are running an experiment to see how water travels through a plant stem by using food colouring in the water. Hoepfully the petals will change colour!! Fingers crossed it works! Photos will be up later!
We have also planted runner beans and cress. We will monitor them over the next few weeks and then compare how they grow.
