Year 3

Welcome to Year 3's page all about the wonderful things that we get up to in 3S and 3W.

We are looking forward to a great year with loads of brilliant things going on.

 Well done to our certificate winners this week!

This week is our school Assessment Week.  Children will be completeing assessments in maths, reading, spelling and grammar.  These will be spread out throughout the week and children will be supported to ensure they can do their best.  The results of these assessments will help us focus our teaching and put things in to place to help children address any misconceptions they may have.  All of these assessment will take place in the mornings.  Afternoon sessions will continue as normal.

We will continue learning about the bones in different animal skeletons.  We learnt about animals that have a backbone and animals that do not a backbone.

We will be continuing to learn about the Ancient Egyptians - week we learnt about all the things found in Tutankhamuns tomb.

Children are still doing Martial Arts on a Tuesday afternoon - all children need a PE in school for this.

We will continue looking at how pneumatic systems work as part of our DT work. Last week we started to plan our design - children looked at how a balloon and syringe will be used to create the pneumatic system and picked the Egyptian God they want to use.

All children have started learning Spanish - last week we developed our understanding of how to introduce ourselves using 'Hola' and 'Buenos Dias'

 Thankyou for all of your donations for our Harvest food collection - these were put on display in our assembly on Wednesday with Rev. Sue from Saint Andrews Church before being taken to the local food bank.
