School Council
Hazelmere Junior School runs an active School Council. At the start of the year each class votes for a School Council representative who stays in post for the year.
School Council have regular meetings where they plan different fundraising events. This year they have done a school disco, pancake stall, film night and cake sale.
Over the last two years the School Council have raised around £2000 which they then use to buy items for the school such as new wet play boxes.
In addition to the internal meetings, School Council representatives also attend Multi-School Council meetings. This involves working with someone from Essex County Council and other schools to discuss issues affecting young people in the area.
