Statement of Intent

To provide a broad, scientific curriculum that develops scientific vocabulary and encourages children to ask questions, through learning about biology, chemistry and physics. Children will be encouraged to make careful observations and decisions based on reasons.

Key aims

• An understanding of the nature, processes and methods of Science through different types of science enquiries that help them to answer scientific questions about the world around them.
• The scientific skills required to understand the uses and implications of science today and for the future.
• Scientific knowledge through a skills based focus.
